Speaking Programs and Workshops

Holly Blue is an accomplished speaker who uses her extensive counseling experience and gentle humor to present sometimes difficult subjects in an easy to understand and safe manner.

Her recent events and topics have included:

“Ethical and Spiritual Wills: Getting your Thoughts on Paper” for Kokua Mau Continuous Care, Honolulu.

“Natural Death Care: Sustainable Solutions” for the Capitola / Aptos Rotary Club.

“Tricks and Tips of Healthcare: How to set up affordable care at home” for the Parkinson’s Disease Community of Santa Cruz (with Miriam Tutman).

“End of Life: if not Now, When?” for the Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Monterey Bay.

“Planning for My Death” on funeral planning basics for the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Humboldt (with Jean Okuye).

“Home Funerals” a hands-on demonstration of ways in which families can honor their dead in their own homes, at the Reimagine End of Life event in San Francisco (with Jerrigrace Lyons).

Holly Blue has also facilitated several Death Cafes, where participants “drink tea, eat cake and talk about death”. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives, in a small group setting.
